What NightClerk sends on your behalf

When you activate NightClerk for your property, our AI will send and receive SMS messages to your guests using a dedicated local phone number assigned to your property. Messages include:

  • Replies to guest questions (check-in times, directions, WiFi, policies)
  • Pre-arrival check-in instructions (24 hours before arrival)
  • After-hours digital check-in and door access codes
  • Post-stay thank you and review request (24 hours after checkout)

Message frequency varies by guest interaction (typically 1–5 messages per guest stay). Messages are sent only during or in connection with a guest's reservation at your property.

How guest consent is obtained

Guests opt in to receive messages through the following methods:

  • Inbound-initiated: Guest texts or calls your property's NightClerk number (displayed on property signage, Google Business Profile, and your website)
  • Booking-triggered: Guest provides phone number when making a reservation through Booking.com, Expedia, or direct booking
  • QR code: Guest scans QR code posted at your property (front door, room keys, parking signs) which includes SMS consent disclosure

All messages include opt-out instructions. Guests can reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply.

NightClerk AI (operated by Akand Group LLC) sends transactional SMS messages to motel guests on behalf of property owners who have authorized the service. Messages are related to guest stays and include check-in instructions, property information, access codes, and review requests.

Message frequency varies (typically 1–5 messages per guest stay). Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase or booking.
